Our Story
Morris Tax Services was built on a passion for helping clients achieve financial wellness through coordinated tax and financial guidance. After years of working alongside trusted tax advisor Joyce Moyer to serve mutual clients, owner, Alison Morris, recognized the value of integrating tax planning with wealth management to better support individuals, families, and business owners.
When Alison established her independent financial advisory practice in 2017, she gained the opportunity to create a business focused not on sales goals or quotas, but on service, education, and long-term relationships. That vision expanded in January 2025 with the launch of Morris Tax Services.
A key part of our tax business has been the leadership of David Petre, whose more than 25 years of experience in tax preparation, advisory services, and investment operations provides clients with trusted expertise and guidance. As Senior Tax Advisor, David continues to help lead the firm’s commitment to excellence.

David Petre is a Senior Tax Advisor and Enrolled Agent with over 25 years of experience preparing individual, estate, trust, and business tax returns. He is dedicated to guiding clients through the tax process with accuracy, efficiency, and personalized support.
David specializes in strategic tax planning to help clients maximize savings and strengthen their overall financial position. He remains available year-round to assist with ongoing tax and financial needs.
ALISON MORRIS
OWNER & INDEPENDENT FINANCIAL ADVISOR
Alison Morris is an Independent Financial Advisor with over 22 years of experience in wealth management and investment planning. She specializes in creating personalized strategies to help individuals and families achieve their financial goals.
Alison joined B. Riley Wealth Management in 2017, where she continues to provide responsive, client-focused guidance. Prior to that, she spent five years growing her practice at PNC Investments and began her career with Edward Jones in 2000.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Mount Vernon Nazarene University and lives in Castalia, Ohio, with her husband Jonathan and two children Levi and Cole.

JOYCE MOYER
LEGACY TAX CONSULTANT
Joyce is an integral part of Morris Tax Services. Her leadership helped inspire the integration of our Investment and Tax services to better serve our clients and community.
With more than 50 years of tax preparation experience, Joyce has built a legacy of service, leadership, and dedication. Her lifelong passion for horsemanship continues through Maple Crest Farms, where she remains active in breeding, showing, and trail riding.
Joyce plans to continue supporting Morris Tax Services as a consultant.

With the support of our volunteers, donors, and community, we continue to make a difference, one animal at a time.
